Dear Ms. Ostrander,

Congratulations! You have been chosen as this year’s recipient of the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors Foundation Scholarship.

You are cordially invited to attend the evening banquet during the Annual Surveyors Institute, Thursday, February 4th at the Kalahari Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells. Terry VanHout of the Education Committee and I will present to you a WSLS Foundation Scholarship in the amount of $2100.

As a scholarship winner, you are entitled to free registration for the Annual Surveyors Institute (February 3,4 and 5, 2010) with free lunch, evening banquet and overnight lodging on Thursday for you and a guest. You will also receive a free one year membership in the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors.

Wayne Sorenson, Program Manager for UW Stevens Point Extension, will be contacting you by the third week of January to determine your plans for the Annual Surveyors Institute and confirmation of your entitlements.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Education Committee of WSLS invites members of the Surveying Profession to submit original, unpublished papers for the WSLS Paper Writing Contest. Suggested topic areas include: Historical, Research, Technical, Educational or about an interesting surveying project or problem. Up to $300 in awards are available.
Papers submitted may be reproduced for publication in Wisconsin Professional Surveyor or writers may be invited to present the paper at a future meeting of the Society. Paper length should be limited to no more than 8-12 pages and submitted by October 1, 2010.
