    MSA has an opportunity for a Entry Level Civil Engineering Technician at our Marshfield office on the Mobility Service Line.

    This position will work primarily in the field including construction management/survey/staking on a variety of mobility engineering projects.   If you enjoy being out in the field but are looking for a challenge and opportunity to be mentored, this is the position for you!

    Responsibilities

    The work you will do

    • Construction site project management/inspection
    • Project plan & specifications interpretation
    • Complete required WisDOT reports utilizing the following software:
    • AASHTOWare Project (AWP)
    • Materials Information Tracking (MIT)
    • Lane Closure System (LCS)
    • Submit reports and documentation consistent with current WisDOT standards
    • Communicate with clients and engineering staff on the progress of the project
    • Provide record drawings of the projects
    • Assist with design plans utilizing Civil 3D software

    Qualifications

    What you bring
    Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:

    • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering technology, Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering or related degree required by May 2021
    • 2.75 GPA minimum required
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • WisDOT field experience or HTCP certifications would be a plus
    • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks desired
    • Willingness and ability to travel for projects including overnight
    • Desire to work in the field to help projects get built
    • Strong communication skills
