Wisconsin land surveyors see a lot of the state every day and not just what you can see from the highway. WSLS would like to share some of those unique looks from around the state with our members and the public. A wise man once said a picture is worth a thousand words. The people we work with and the public in general do not see what is involved in surveying. It is up to us to show them. One way is to show through pictures what surveyors do. WSLS and the Outreach Committee need your help in getting the message to the public. A photo contest is a way we can both get some surveying pictures and give a little extra to those who remember to take a few pictures. Take your camera or you always have that trusty cell phone when you are surveying and take photos of what you are doing. You may be able to impress your fellow members.

Since surveyors work in the office as well as the field, the contest includes both office and field views. The entries will be exhibited at the Annual Institute and the membership will be given an opportunity to vote on their three favorites. Winners are published in the March magazine. The first-place entry will be awarded $50, second place $25 and third place $10. Entries can be submitted up until noon on January 6, 2025. To win the submitter must be a member of WSLS. 

All entries must be the sole property of the submitter. It is understood that the owner, by entering the contest, grants permission to WSLS to use the photo in their publications either in print or online. Credit will be given to the owner of the photo.
